Sadly, most children who come into foster care arrive with only the clothes they are wearing. Froggy's Closet was the vision of a couple of foster moms who wanted to provide everything a child needs upon arrival into foster care. As more parents became involved, and the community stepped up with support, donations of new and gently used items and volunteer hours, the vision of providing free essentials became a reality.
Essential items are also provided to children who are at-risk or in need by referral from the Department of Social Services, The Laurel Center, Fremont Street Nursery, The Winchester Day School, Head Start Program and other school guidance counselors, nurses and pediatric offices. Located in Downtown Winchester, Froggy's Closet is always accepting donations. Although we appreciate all donations, we have few volunteers to clean donated items. Also, most of the children that we serve may never have had nice things and we want them to be proud of what they are wearing. At any given time Froggy's Closet has needs for specific items for various ages or gender, so if you have questions about donations of items or services, please visit our Contact Us page.
